Coach Nick Halberg
Founder of Teach Tape Academy

Football has been my life’s classroom since growing up as the son of a longtime high school coach. My journey has taken me from Oregon State’s video room to coaching in the Big Ten at Nebraska, Steve Clarkson’s Quarterback Retreat, analyzing NFL film at Pro Football Focus, and now serving as Offensive Coordinator at Lake Oswego High School since 2020. Through 15+ years at every level of football, I’ve discovered that physical talent gets you noticed, but mental preparation is the separator that sets you apart from other athletes.

Since my early coaching days, I’ve been creating “teach tape” – film cutups designed to develop football IQ. These college-level teaching techniques, now adapted for high school and youth athletes, help players at every position understand football from the QB’s perspective. These teach tape methods have helped develop athletes who’ve achieved remarkable success, including one QB who earned 6A Gatorade Player of the Year honors and now plays Division One football, while another is currently committed to play Division One. Whether you’re a quarterback or play any other position, learning to see the game like a QB elevates your football IQ and overall performance.

At Teach Tape Academy, we teach players how to see, think, and dominate the game from the inside out. Whether you’re pursuing a college scholarship or simply want to master the mental side of football, our proven film study techniques and mental training methods will transform how you understand and play the game. Because when you master the mental game, your physical abilities finally have the chance to shine.
